Eatari Privacy Policy
Eatari is a personal nutrition tracking and meal planning app provided by Eatari. This policy explains what information Eatari processes, why it is processed, and how to contact us.
Information we collect
- Account information, such as the email address and profile name provided by Google Sign-In.
- Profile and nutrition information, such as height, weight, target weight, sex, date of birth, activity level, goals, meals, recipes, calories, and macronutrients.
- Body and health information that you enter manually or choose to sync from Health Connect or HealthKit, such as weight samples.
- Photos, voice recordings, barcodes, and text submitted when you use food logging features. Camera barcode scanning can be processed locally; dish photos and voice clips may be sent to Eatari backend services for parsing and are intended for transient processing, not long-term media storage.
- App settings and technical data needed to operate the app, such as language/theme preferences, authentication tokens, device/network metadata, server logs, diagnostics, and crash reports. When analytics is enabled, Eatari may also process analytics events to understand app usage.
How we use information
- To create and manage your Eatari account.
- To calculate nutrition targets, show meal history, generate meal plans, and synchronize body weight data after permission.
- To parse food from search, barcode, voice, photo, and manual entry flows.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, debug problems, and improve reliability.
- To understand app reliability, diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance through diagnostics and crash reporting.
- To respond to support and account deletion requests.
Health and sensitive data
Eatari only accesses health data after you grant permission through the operating system. You can revoke Health Connect or HealthKit permissions at any time in your device settings. Health data is used to show and synchronize your body weight history in Eatari.
Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal data. We may process data through providers that help operate Eatari, including Google services for sign-in, Google Play and Health Connect, Apple HealthKit, hosting infrastructure, OpenAI or other LLM parsing providers for food recognition, and crash reporting or analytics providers. These providers process data only as needed to provide, secure, debug, and improve the app and related services.
Retention and deletion
We retain account, profile, nutrition, and body history data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Photos and voice recordings submitted for food parsing are intended to be processed transiently and not retained as long-term media records after parsing. You can request deletion from inside the app or by contacting support. Account and primary user data deletion is intended to be completed within 30 days. Some limited records may remain in backups, security logs, abuse-prevention records, or legal records for up to 90 days or where required to protect the service or comply with legal obligations.
Your choices
- You can delete meals and update profile/body data in the app where supported.
- You can revoke health permissions in your device settings.
- You can request account deletion through the app or by email.
